The prospect of Polyimide

Polyimide, as a promising polymer material, has been fully recognized, and its applications in insulating materials and structural materials have been expanding. The potential for functional materials is still being explored. But it has not yet become a bigger breed after 40 years of development, and the main reason is that, compared with other polymers, the cost is still too high. Therefore, one of the main directions of polyimide research should be to find a way to reduce the cost in monomer synthesis and polymerization.
